Who we are

Bidnux is operated from Manitoba, Canada. For privacy questions, write to support@bidnux.com.

What we collect

• Account details — name, email, phone, business name, and the areas and trades you work in.
• Documents you upload — insurance certificates, licences, workers' compensation letters, and any drawings or photos attached to a job.
• Activity — jobs posted, jobs unlocked, quotes, messages, reviews, and the time and IP address each happened at.
• Payment details — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
• Technical — IP address, browser, and sign-in times, used for security and to spot duplicate accounts.

Why we collect it

To match jobs to contractors, to let businesses check who they are hiring, to bill memberships, to keep a record of what was agreed, and to stop people gaming the free allowance. That is the whole list. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not sell data to anyone.

Who can see what

• A business's name, contact details and site address are hidden from contractors until one unlocks the job.
• A contractor's credential documents can only be opened by a business they have quoted to, messaged, or been awarded work by. They are not public.
• Reviews are public on a contractor's profile, and only come from businesses whose job was completed here.
• Messages are visible to the two parties in the thread and nobody else.

Who we share it with

Only the services that make the site run:

• Stripe — payments and subscriptions
• Postmark — sending email
• Twilio — text alerts, if you opt in
• DigitalOcean and Cloudflare — hosting and DNS

We will also hand over data if a court orders us to. If that happens and we are allowed to tell you, we will.

Where it lives

Application data is stored on servers in Toronto, Canada. Some of the services above process data in the United States, which means it can be subject to US law while it is there.

How long we keep it

Account data stays while your account is open. Job records, quotes and messages are kept for seven years after a job closes, because both sides may need them for a dispute, an insurance claim or tax. Sign-in logs are kept for twelve months. Deleted documents are removed from storage immediately.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account. Email us and we will action it within thirty days.

One limit worth stating plainly: we cannot delete a job record that another party also relies on. If you quoted on someone's job, that job's record stays with them. We will remove your account and personal details from it.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and remember which side of your account you are using, and one to remember the city you last checked job counts for. No advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party analytics.

Text messages

If you opt in to text alerts we store your number, the date you consented, and the date you opted out. Reply STOP to any message and we stop immediately and permanently.

Changes

If we change anything material here we will email account holders rather than quietly updating the date at the top.
